(Aric Crabb\/Bay Area News Group)\u00a0<\/p>\nSAN JOSE \u2013 Michael Misa scored at the 1:40 mark of overtime to lift the San Jose Sharks to a 2-1 win over the Winnipeg Jets on Sunday before a sellout crowd of 17,435 at SAP Center.<\/p>\n
On the goal, Misa took a drop pass from William Eklund, skated into the Jets\u2019 zone, fought off a check from defenseman Haydn Fleury, and beat goalie Connor Hellebuyck for his fourth goal of the season.<\/p>\n
The Sharks now have a record of 12-4 in overtime this season.<\/p>\n
\u201cFirst shift I ever got in OT and tried to make the most of it,\u201d Misa said. \u201c(Eklund) made a nice drop pass to me, and I figured I\u2019d just wheel in there and see what happens.\u201d<\/p>\n
Will Smith scored the Sharks\u2019 other goal, and goalie Alex Nedeljkovic finished with 27 saves in the win.<\/p>\n
The Sharks are now 2-1-0 on a six-game homestand that concludes with games against the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday, the St. Louis Blues on Friday, and the New York Islanders on Saturday.<\/p>\n
The Sharks had trouble establishing any forecheck in the second period when they managed just five shots on net. The Jets did an effective job of taking away time and space in the neutral zone, and whenever they had breakdowns, Hellebuyck was there with 18 saves in the first 40 minutes.<\/p>\n
Sharks coach Ryan Warsofsky juggled his forward lines late in the second period, moving Kiefer Sherwood to the second line with Alexander Wennberg and Philipp Kurashev and Collin Graf up with Macklin Celebrini and Will Smith.<\/p>\n

The three combined to score the Sharks\u2019 first goal early in the third period.<\/p>\n
Graf took a long pass from Celebrini, carried the puck toward the Jets\u2019 net on a Sharks 2-on-1 with Smith, and fired a shot that was stopped by Hellebuyck. The rebound, though, came right to Smith, who directed it into the Jets\u2019 net to tie the game 1-1 with 18:13 left in regulation time.<\/p>\n
\u201cJust a 2-on-1 developed, and we wanted to have a shooting mentality, and it popped up in the air, and I got a piece of it,\u201d Smith said.<\/p>\n
The Sharks fell behind at the 2:44 mark of the first period on a goal by Morgan Barron.<\/p>\n
After the puck came back to him after a faceoff in the Jets zone, defenseman Shakir Mukhamadullin tried to poke the puck ahead to a teammate. Instead, it went off Jets winger Cole Koepke, who sent it to Tanner Pearson as Barron began streaking up the ice.<\/p>\n
Pearson then fed Barron, who skated into the Sharks\u2019 zone and beat Nedeljkovic high to the glove side for his eighth goal of the season.<\/p>\n
Nedeljkovic was making his first start since Jan. 31 when he made 39 stops in a 3-2 loss to the Calgary Flames. Nedeljkovic, a pending unrestricted free agent, entered Sunday with a 10-9-2 record and an .899 save percentage in 25 games.<\/p>\n
Hellebuyck was making his second start since last Sunday, when he made 41 saves to help lead Team USA to a 2-1 overtime win over Celebrini and Team Canada in the gold medal game at the Milan Cortina Winter Olympics.<\/p>\n
