There have been a wave of demonstrations across the country following a major U.S.-Israel attack against Iran<\/a>, killing the country\u2019s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Iran has since retaliated, and President Trump says the U.S. is prepared to continue attacks for weeks or longer – at a time when both countries were engaged in weeks of negotiations to prevent a conflict. California is home to the largest Iranian diaspora in the country. And many took to the streets over the weekend- including in Roseville and Turlock – with another demonstration planned in Sacramento tonight. Sahar Razavi<\/a> is the Director of Iranian and Middle Eastern Studies at Sac State and joins us with a look at this escalating conflict in the Middle East through a California lens. <\/p>\n Healthcare Prices <\/p>\n As healthcare costs continue to rise, skyrocketing premiums are causing concern for people who purchase insurance via Covered California. Enhanced federal subsidies expired last year after Congress failed to extend them past December 31st and that has many folks scrambling to fit increased monthly payments into their budget. Christine Mai-Duc<\/a> is the California Correspondent for KFF Health News and wrote about a Colusa County couple whose premiums were set to increase by 722 percent. She joins us today to explain why more people might soon experience the same. <\/p>\n Sac Dance Theatre ‘LIFTED’ <\/p>\n Founded in 2015, Sacramento Dance Theatre is committed to \u2018fostering creativity and innovation through dance.\u2019 The company\u2019s latest production, LIFTED, explores the realities and dangers of human trafficking from both a local and global perspective. It debuts this Saturday, March 7 at the Sofia in Sacramento.
