A man was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver near Mission Bay early Sunday, police said.<\/p>\n
The victim was also hit by a second vehicle, although that driver stayed at the scene to cooperate with officers, police said.<\/p>\n
The initial crash occurred at about 2:20 a.m. in the area of West Mission Bay and Sea World drives, near SeaWorld San Diego.<\/p>\n
The pedestrian was in the southbound lanes of West Mission Bay Drive when he was struck by a silver vehicle driving in the southbound lanes, police said. That driver drove off after striking the man, police said.<\/p>\n
Shortly after, a 28-year-old man heading south ran over the downed pedestrian, police said. The pedestrian died before he could be taken to a hospital.<\/p>\n
That driver remained at the scene and investigators said no drug or alcohol intoxication was involved.<\/p>\n
No information about the man who died was immediately available.<\/p>\n
