Police are investigating a fatal stabbing on K Street that left a man dead and a woman injured. No suspect information released.<\/p>\n

SACRAMENTO, Calif. \u2014 Sacramento police are investigating a fatal stabbing that happened late Monday night in the Downtown Commons area.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Just before 9:45 p.m., officers responded to the 400 block of K Street after receiving reports of a stabbing, according to the Sacramento Police Department.<\/p>\n

When officers arrived, they found two people who had been stabbed an adult man and an adult woman. Both were taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.<\/p>\n

Despite lifesaving efforts, the adult male victim was pronounced dead at the hospital, police said. The adult female victim\u2019s condition has not been released.<\/p>\n

Due to the circumstances, homicide detectives and crime scene investigators responded to take over the case.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Investigators are processing the scene, canvassing the area and interviewing witnesses as they work to determine what led up to the stabbing.<\/p>\n

Police said no suspect information is currently available.<\/p>\n

The Sacramento County Coroner\u2019s Office will release the identity of the deceased after the next of kin have been notified.<\/p>\n
