A Disney villains-themed land with attractions inspired by Jaafar, Ursula and Captain Hook, could have been part of Disney California Adventure, but those plans were abandoned in favor of Pixar Pier, according to a recent report.<\/p>\n

Under the scrapped proposal, California Screamin\u2019, which is now the Incredicoaster, would have received a full villains retheme. The coaster\u2019s scream tunnels would have been redesigned as a giant Jafar snake from Disney\u2019s 1992 film \u201cAladdin,\u201d and the ride\u2019s inverted loop would have been transformed into Captain Hook\u2019s hook, according to The Wrap.<\/a><\/p>\n

A Dumbo-style spinner themed to Ursula from Disney\u2019s 1989 \u201cThe Little Mermaid\u201d was also planned for where Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind sits today.<\/p>\n

Plans for the abandoned project resurfaced in The Wrap\u2019s reporting on Walt Disney Imagineering being sent \u201cback to the drawing board\u201d on a separate Villains Land currently in development for Florida\u2019s Magic Kingdom.<\/p>\n

The Florida project is being reworked with \u201cbolder, bigger ideas,\u201d according to the outlet.<\/p>\n

Early plans for the Magic Kingdom land included a Maleficent-themed thrill coaster and a restaurant inspired by Madam Medusa from Disney\u2019s 1977 animated film \u201cThe Rescuers,\u201d The Wrap reported.<\/p>\n

Revised concepts now include a Maleficent-themed indoor water ride, a family coaster based on Yzma and Kronk from 2000\u2019s \u201cThe Emperor\u2019s New Groove,\u201d a Hades-themed dinner show and the Ursula spinning ride.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs the saying goes, no good idea at Walt Disney Imagineering ever goes away,\u201d The Wrap wrote.<\/p>\n

The villains may have been vanquished from DCA\u2019s plans, but Imagineers are now assembling new experiences for Avengers Campus and elsewhere in DCA.<\/p>\n

In Avengers Infinity Defense, Guests will be enlisted to fight alongside the Avengers in an epic battle against King Thanos. Visitors will team up with heroes like Black Panther, Ant-Man and Hulk as they travel through multiple dimensions to save the universe.<\/p>\n

Guests will sit in \u201cgyro-kinetic pods\u201d and roll along a track before stopping in front of a giant robot arm. This robot arm will hoist you into the air, where you\u2019ll make several high-speed maneuvers inspired by Iron Man and some other Avengers.<\/p>\n

A new land inspired by Avatar: The Way of Water and the upcoming third film, Avatar: Fire and Ash, along with the first-ever attraction based on Pixar\u2019s Coco, is also in development for DCA.<\/p>\n
