The food truck opened its storefront in South Oak Park on Feb. 27.<\/p>\n<p>                Photo courtesy of Do\u00f1a Mari Cocinita\u2019s Facebook<\/p>\n<p>A beloved Mexican food truck known for its birria opened its official storefront in South Oak Park last Friday night.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u0303a Mari Cocinita held a grand opening for its new home on Feb. 27 at 4204 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. The restaurant offers authentic Mexican food including al pastor quesadillas, birria tacos, nieves de garrafa and aqua fresca according to its Yelp page.<\/p>\n<p>The popular Mexican food truck was typically found at the intersection between Franklin Boulevard and 47th Avenue.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u0303a Mari Cocinita announced its new storefront on social media in January. The restaurant extended its gratitude to fans who have supported its endeavors since its humble beginnings as a street vendor operation in 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Owned by a mother and daughter duo, Don\u0303a Mari Garibay said that it\u2019s been her daughter\u2019s dream to open the restaurant. Garibay called it as a business milestone that represents \u201cyears of sacrifice, resilience and faith\u201d in the family\u2019s vision.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not just a new location,\u201d Garibay said. \u201cIt\u2019s a testament to (our) journey as mother and daughter entrepreneurs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce was a part of Don\u0303a Mari Cocinita\u2019s grand opening. On social media, the chamber said this is just one example of the many fast-growing Hispanic businesses in the region.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is more than a restaurant. It\u2019s heart. It\u2019s hustle. It\u2019s entrepreneurship in action,\u201d the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce said on social media. \u201cWhen small businesses open their doors, jobs are created, families are supported, and neighborhoods grow stronger.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The food truck began in 2020 at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Garibay said.
