(KOLO) &#8211; A convicted sex offender who fled to San Francisco is back in custody in Nevada.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Jonas Ortiz was arrested on Nov. 13, 2025 by US Marshals. He was wanted in Nevada for a parole violation after absconding from supervision in May of last year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Ortiz was convicted in March of 1990 of the sexual assault of a minor under the age of 14 and first-degree kidnapping and was sentenced to 60 months to life in prison. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">He was extradited back to Nevada on Monday, and he is now in custody at the Washoe County Jail.<\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2026 KOLO.
