SAN FRANCISCO, CA \u2014 A city smoking ordinance violation in San Mateo led to the arrest of a San Francisco man on Monday, after officers discovered suspected methamphetamine, pepper spray, and drug paraphernalia, police said.<\/p>\n
Nathan McGill, 39, was detained by a San Mateo Police Department officer patrolling the area of Concar Drive and Pacific Boulevard around 10:31 p.m. when the officer observed McGill and a second individual violating a city smoking ordinance, police said.<\/p>\n
A records check identified McGill and revealed he was on searchable probation. During the search, officers found methamphetamine in one of McGill\u2019s pants pockets and a canister of pepper spray was also located, police said. <\/p>\n
Due to multiple prior drug-related convictions, McGill is prohibited from possessing both the controlled substance and pepper spray, police said. Additionally, officers said they found drug paraphernalia inside his personal bag.<\/p>\n
McGill was arrested and booked into the San Mateo County Jail on charges including possession of a controlled substance with two or more prior convictions, unlawful possession of pepper spray, and possession of unlawful paraphernalia. <\/p>\n
