NOE VALLEY \u2014 Malaysian restaurant Damansara<\/a> has (effectively) closed to the public, the San Francisco Chronicle<\/a> confirms. Opening in 2022, the restaurant has undergone some changes in recent months, first announcing the shift to takeout-only in December 2025, before changing more recently to \u201cby appointment only\u201d for private events, catering, and supper club buyouts, per the Chronicle. Owner Tracy Goh told the paper, \u201cAs a private chef now I am much happier cooking for clients who would give me full creative freedom to cook true Malaysian flavors the way I\u2019d cook for my loved ones.\u201d<\/p>\n

MISSION \u2014 We Be Sushi closed its final location as of Friday, February 13, Mission Local<\/a> reports. \u201cI\u2019m 76 now; that\u2019s long enough,\u201d said chef and owner Andy Tonozuka told the news site. \u201cI felt so much relief once I decided to retire.\u201d The business has been around for 39 years, with five locations in operation at its peak. OAKLAND \u2014 The bar space at 3332 Grand Avenue has turned over once again. East Bay Nosh<\/a> reports that tiki bar Barbary Coast has closed. VALLEJO \u2014 Popular vegan soul food spot Vegan Mob<\/a> has closed its Vallejo location as of Saturday, February 21. The restaurant grew out of Oakland and later opened in Vallejo in August 2024, serving items such as its plant-based fried chicken and mac and cheese. Owner Toriano Gordon told the Vallejo Times-Herald<\/a> that he\u2019s making \u201ca strategic shift towards franchising.\u201d The business threw a closing day party<\/a> to mark the occasion.
