Investigators were at work Wednesday after California Highway Patrol officers chased down multiple reports of shootings on Sacramento-area freeways that morning including one that sent a man to the hospital.<\/p>\n
Officers were called to \u201cmultiple reports of vehicles struck by gunfire,\u201d said officials at the California Highway Patrol\u2019s Valley Division in a statement.<\/p>\n
CHP and Sacramento police officers early Wednesday found a car in the area of Eighth and K streets in downtown Sacramento believed to be tied to a gunshot victim in the Dos Rios Triangle area of Sacramento.<\/p>\n
Sacramento police responded about 5:30 a.m. to the area of Vine Street and Dos Rios Street in the Dos Rios Triangle area of Sacramento. Officers found the victim, who was taken to a hospital by emergency personnel, said Sacramento Police Department officials. Their condition was not known Wednesday.<\/p>\n
The California Highway Patrol later took over the investigation, Sacramento police said.<\/p>\n
CHP investigators continued to work in the area of Highway 160 and Interstate 5 Wednesday afternoon. Motorists were cautioned to expect delays in the area while the investigation continued.<\/p>\n
