{"id":206161,"date":"2026-03-05T21:19:09","date_gmt":"2026-03-05T21:19:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/206161\/"},"modified":"2026-03-05T21:19:09","modified_gmt":"2026-03-05T21:19:09","slug":"sharks-acquire-defenseman-jett-woo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/206161\/","title":{"rendered":"Sharks acquire defenseman Jett Woo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>San Jose Sharks (<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/SanJoseSharks\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">@SanJoseSharks<\/a>)\u00a0General Manager\u00a0Mike Grier\u00a0announced today that the club has\u00a0acquired\u00a0defenseman\u00a0Jett Woo from the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for defenseman Jack Thompson.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Woo,\u00a025, has registered eight points (one goal, seven assists) in 26 games this season for the Abbotsford Canucks in the American Hockey League.\u00a0He ranks fifth among team defensemen in\u00a0points, and\u00a0is second in penalty minutes (78).\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Over the course of his\u00a0professional\u00a0career\u00a0with the Utica Comets and Abbotsford, he has recorded 91 points (22 goals, 69 assists) in 293 AHL games.\u00a0He helped Abbotsford capture the Calder Cup last season, appearing in 22 postseason games and scoring six points (one goal, five assists), along with a plus-8 rating.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In juniors,\u00a0he played across\u00a0four\u00a0seasons for the Moose Jaw Warriors and Calgary Hitmen in the Western Hockey League (WHL), where he collected\u00a0160 points (33 goals, 127 assists) in 242 career games.
