The season will kick off with a three-week run of Water for Elephants and end with two add-on productions, The Lion King and Hamilton.\u00a0<\/p>\n
All productions will grace the stage of the Hollywood Pantages Theatre, located at the historical Hollywood and Vine intersection.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Water for Elephants<\/p>\n
September 8 \u2013 27, 2026<\/p>\n
Based on the New York Times Bestselling novel by Sara Gruen, the North American tour for Water for Elephants will open the 2026-2027 season at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre. This aerobatic adaptation follows a young man who jumps a train and joins a traveling circus after losing everything in the Great Depression.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The production is directed by Tony Award-nominated Jessica Stone and written by three-time Tony nominee Rick Elice.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Outsiders<\/p>\n
September 30 \u2013 October 18, 2026<\/p>\n
This Tony Award-winning Best Musical will make its L.A. debut in September at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre. Set in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1967, the cast ofThe Outsiders navigate friendship, family and social-class conflict.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Directed by Tony Award winner Danya Taymor, and based on S.E. Hinton\u2019s 1967 novel, this musical was choreographed by Tony Award nominees Rick Kuperman and Jeff Kuperman, with music and lyrics by Tony Award nominees Jamestown Revival (Jonathan Clay & Zach Chance) and Justin Levine.<\/p>\n
The Who\u2019s Tommy<\/p>\n
October 27 \u2013 November 15, 2026<\/p>\n
This rock opera will make its L.A. premiere in late October. The musical weaves The Who\u2019s 1969 concept album into a tale that blends themes of family dysfunction and the search for a new identity, featuring songs like \u201cI\u2019m Free,\u201d \u201cSee Me, Feel Me,\u201d \u201cSensation\u201d and \u201cPinball Wizard.\u201d<\/p>\n
The score is composed by Award-winning Pete Townshend and directed by Tony Award-winning Des McAnuff.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Buena Vista Social Club<\/p>\n
March 9 \u2013 28, 2027<\/p>\n
Inspired by its namesake 1996 musical album and the ensemble that recorded it, Buena Vista Social Club will visit L.A. for the first time in March 2027. The show, set in Havana, Cuba, tells the story of Omara Portuondo, who once again finds herself in the spotlight after time away from the public eye.\u00a0<\/p>\n
This Tony and Grammy-winning musical was directed by Saheem Ali with music by David Yazbek.<\/p>\n
Operation Mincemeat: A New Musical<\/p>\n
March 30 \u2013 April 18, 2027<\/p>\n
Based on a chaotic true story, this Olivier Award-winning British musical comedy tells the story of a secret mission that resulted in a World War II victory \u2013 involving a stolen corpse. The production received a 2025 Tony Award and is the best-reviewed show in West End history. Now, Operation Mincemeat will make its way to this West Coast stage for its L.A. debut.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Maybe Happy Ending<\/p>\n
May 4 \u2013 23, 2027<\/p>\n
Winner of six 2025 Tony Awards, Maybe Happy Ending explores relationships, love and morality between two unlikely companions \u2013 \u201cHelper-bots.\u201d The musical is set in Seoul, Korea, and follows two robots who discover what it means to be human.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The musical, which is making its L.A. premiere, is directed by Kim Dong-yeon, with lyrics written by Hue Park, music composed by Will Aronson, and book written by both Park and Aronson.<\/p>\n
The Great Gatsby\u00a0<\/p>\n
June 1 \u2013 20, 2027<\/p>\n
Based on the F. Scott Fitzgerald\u2019s 1925 classic novel, audience members will be immersed in this dazzling musical adaptation which showcases a tragic love story in the Jazz Age. From glitzy costumes and energizing choreography, The Great Gatsby follows Jay Gatsby as he pursues the beautiful, yet unpredictable, Daisy Buchanan.\u00a0<\/p>\n
This Broadway musical\u2019s book was written by Kait Kerrigan, with music from Jason Howland and lyrics by Nathan Tysen.<\/p>\n
Death Becomes Her<\/p>\n
July 6 \u2013 25, 2027<\/p>\n
Credited as the \u201cperfect musical comedy\u201d by Deadline, Death Becomes Her is a new musical comedy based on the 1992 film. Actress Madeline Ashton and her closest frenemy, Helen Sharp, go head-to-head, seeking to find eternal beauty, which leads to dire consequences.\u00a0<\/p>\n
This witty production is directed and choreographed by Tony winner Christopher Gattelli, with music and lyrics by Julia Mattison and Noel Carey.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Disney\u2019s The Lion King<\/p>\n
December 17, 2026 \u2013 February 13, 2027<\/p>\n
North America\u2019s longest-running Broadway Tour will return to L.A. for the holidays due to popular demand. Disney\u2019s reimagining of William Shakespeare\u2019s tragedy, Hamlet, follows young Simba as he finds his way back home following the tragic death of his father, the king of the Pride Lands.<\/p>\n
The six-time Tony Award-winning musical features some of Broadway\u2019s most recognizable tunes by Tony Award-winning artists Elton John and Tim Rice.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Hamilton<\/p>\n
July 28 \u2013 August 29, 2027<\/p>\n
Hamilton returns to L.A. for a limited run next summer, bringing a blend of hip-hop, jazz and R&B paired with Broadway flair. The musical follows the life and death of Founding Father Alexander Hamilton as he fights to build a new nation that will better the lives of generations to follow.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Lin-Manuel Miranda created the book, music and lyrics for the production, which was by Thomas Kail, choreographed by Andy Blankenbuehler and included musical supervision and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire.\u00a0<\/p>\n
