ANAHEIM, CA \u2014 A man was in custody after police say he attacked a mother and her teenage daughter in public in Anaheim, threatening to sexually assault them, authorities said. <\/p>\n

Jose Gudino, 59, was charged with two felony counts of kidnapping with intent to commit rape, according to the Anaheim Police Department. <\/p>\n

Police said Gudino is currently homeless and had no prior history of violent attacks. <\/p>\n

The incident took place Tuesday afternoon near Lincoln Avenue and East Street, when a mother and daughter \u2014 who asked to remain anonymous \u2014 were walking home from a bus stop. <\/p>\n

They told ABC 7 that they began to notice a man following behind them. Moments later, the man \u2014 later identified as Gudino \u2014 attacked the pair. <\/p>\n

“We were screaming for help,” the 14-year-old daughter told ABC 7.<\/a> “I felt like that was going to be my last day here and I was just so traumatized.”<\/p>\n

The mother and daughter allege that Gudino attacked them in broad daylight and threatened to sexually assault them. <\/p>\n

“A bag of my pills fell. When I tried to pick it up, he hit me with a bag in his hand and I fell on the street,” the mother told ABC 7.<\/p>\n

A good Samaritan saw the situation unfold and stopped their vehicle so the mother and daughter could jump into her car, ABC 7 reported. <\/p>\n
