Highwire Montclair (temporary?)<\/p>\n

The Highwire coffee shop in Oakland\u2019s Montclair Village has closed, Highwire announced on March 2. In a message posted to the company website<\/a>, the closure is being called temporary. The Highwire Workers Union website and Instagram<\/a> accounts allege workers at the Montclair coffee shop were all laid off on March 2, \u201cthe same deadline workers set for the company to respond to demands addressing harassment, transphobia, favoritism, and retaliation.\u201d Workers<\/a> are also asking the management to reopen the Montclair location and also reinstate workers at other locations. A note posted at the shop signed by \u201cHighwire Coffee Roasters\u201d and adjacent to a \u201cNow Hiring\u201d flyer states, in part: \u201cAfter much consideration, we have made the difficult decision to temporarily close our Montclair Village cafe.\u201d Nosh is following the story, and stay tuned for updates. Olfactory Brewing<\/p>\n

The Berkeley taproom<\/a> appears to have closed<\/a>. The brewery closed its San Francisco taproom in the Dogpatch in December, citing \u201cunsustainable operating costs.\u201d The Berkeley location opened approximately two years ago<\/a>. At the start of March, the Berkeley taproom\u2019s Instagram had \u201cclosed\u201d posted in the bio, with no further posts about its shuttering. As of March 5, the brewery\u2019s website and two Instagram accounts have been taken down. Olfactory Brewing<\/a>, 2055 Center St., Ste. D, Berkeley.<\/p>\n

Seoul Mama<\/p>\n

A Newark Korean restaurant, Seoul Mama, has closed. The family-run restaurant announced<\/a> that due to slow business, they have decided to shutter. The restaurant served bibimbap, tofu stew, and teppanyaki dishes. Seoul Mama<\/a>, 5890 Mowry School Rd., Newark.\u00a0<\/p>\n
