USAFA, Colo.\u2014Samantha Macasu<\/a> and Mikaela Pitts<\/a> recorded the Spartans\u2019 top scores of the night to lead the San Jos\u00e9 State women\u2019s gymnastics team to a 195.725 in a tri-meet at Air Force with Denver Friday night.
Macasu led the team with a 9.900 on bars, while Pitts led the vault team with a 9.850.
The bars team started the meet off strong with a 48.950, led by Macasu\u2019s season-best 9.900. Victoria Kisch<\/a> and Kaviana Jurries<\/a> each had a 9.800, while Sophie Patterson<\/a> and Genesis PeBenito<\/a> each scored a 9.725.
The beam team then scored 48.900, led by Marissa Ashton<\/a> and Patterson, who each had a 9.825. PeBenito and Macasu had a 9.775, while Devyn Valuch<\/a> had a 9.700.
Jurries led the floor team with a 9.825, as the Spartans scored a 48.875 in the third rotation. PeBenito and Patterson each had a 9.800, Mia Nelson<\/a> with a 9.750 and Kaylee Larson<\/a> at 9.700.
The vault team saved the best for last, posting the best event score of the night with a 49.000. Mikaela Pitts<\/a> led SJSU with a 9.850, followed by Patterson at 9.825, Valuch at 9.800, Jurries at 9.775, Macasu at 9.750 and Olivia Reardon<\/a> at 9.650.
UP NEXT \u2013 The Spartans return to the Bay Area for a tri-meet at California with Stanford on Friday, March 13, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
