Safety Kam Curl<\/a> was one of the Rams<\/a>\u2019 top defensive players last season, a consistent tackler who made several game-turning plays.<\/p>\n

On Friday, the Rams and Curl agreed to terms on a three-year extension, people with knowledge of the situation said. The people requested anonymity because the deal has not been announced, but it includes about $24 million in guarantees.<\/p>\n

Curl, who will turn 27 this month, made 122 tackles, intercepted two passes, had two sacks and forced a fumble last season. In the NFC divisional round against the Chicago Bears<\/a>, he intercepted a pass in overtime to set up the winning field goal.<\/p>\n

Re-signing Curl, who began his career with the Washington Commanders before signing with the Rams in 2024, is the third major move the Rams made to their secondary since January.<\/p>\n

On Jan. 1, the Rams signed safety Quentin Lake<\/a> to a three-year extension that included $25.5 million in guarantees, according to Overthecap.com<\/a>. The Rams are continuing to work to finalize terms on this week\u2019s blockbuster trade for Kansas City cornerback Trent McDuffie<\/a>, a 2023 All-Pro.<\/p>\n

The Rams on Thursday agreed to terms with veteran tight end Tyler Higbee<\/a>, and last month re-signed offensive tackle David Quessenberry.<\/p>\n

Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo and cornerbacks Cobie Durant, Roger McCreary, Ahkello Witherspoon and Derion Kendrick are pending free agents. The free-agent negotiation period begins Monday at 9 a.m. PDT.<\/p>\n

The Rams placed cornerback Darious Williams<\/a> on the reserve\/retired list, the team announced Saturday.<\/p>\n

Williams, who will turn 33 on March 15, played eight NFL seasons \u2014 six with the Rams \u2014 and was a member of the Rams\u2019 Super Bowl championship team in 2021. After that season, he signed a free-agent contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars, but he returned to the Rams in 2024.<\/p>\n

Last season, Williams played in 12 games and intercepted one pass.<\/p>\n
