The NHL trade deadline has come and gone, and with it, the odds of certain buyers hoisting the Stanley Cup shortened, while the sellers have become all but long shots.<\/p>\n
Perhaps most notably, the Buffalo Sabres<\/a> continued their remarkable climb up the odds board after acquiring defensemen Logan Stanley<\/a> and Luke Schenn<\/a> on deadline day. After beginning the season at 150-1 to the Stanley Cup, the Sabres were 40-1 prior to the Olympic break and have emerged from the trade deadline at 22-1, eighth on DraftKings’ odds board. The Ottawa Senators<\/a>, who acquired forward Warren Foegele<\/a> and dealt winger David Perron<\/a> in two separate transactions Thursday, were also a notable riser, improving to 50-1 from 100-1 before the Olympic break.<\/p>\n Elsewhere, the Anaheim Ducks<\/a> added defenseman John Carlson<\/a> from the Washington Capitals<\/a>, allowing the Ducks to improve to 60-1 for the Cup from 90-1 pre-Olympics. On the other side, Washington has fallen all the way to 100-1, a steep drop-off from 40-1 before the Olympics and 80-1 just prior to the trade deadline. The New Jersey Devils<\/a> were also sellers at the deadline, lengthening their odds overnight from 200-1 to 500-1 between Thursday and Friday.<\/p>\n
