\t\t\tOBITUARY\t\t<\/p>\n
Thelma Christine Anderson, age 100, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2025, in Loudon, TN. Born on June 9, 1925, in Brattleboro, Vermont, Thelma was raised there before moving to Anaheim, California, in 1959. Twice Thelma was widowed, first husband Robert W Sumner, married for 28 years, and Irish\u2019s late husband Robert L Anderson, married for 38 years. Thelma supported the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Diabetes Association. Known affectionately as \u201cIrish,\u201d she was cherished for her joyful spirit and her ever-positive outlook on life. <\/p>\n
Irish demonstrated a friendly and diligent work ethic throughout her life. She worked in customer service for the City of Anaheim from 1963 to 1982. She relocated with her late husband to Sweet Home, Oregon, where she worked in patient registration at Lebanon Hospital. Irish always carried a deep love for her hometown of Anaheim, and in 1988, it drew her back with the warmth of familiar streets and cherished memories. She considered it her true home, embracing the community she loved and the people who had shaped her life. She received numerous awards for her Customer Service and work ethic from her employers. At 98 years young, she travelled to Ireland with her family to learn about her roots. There she was enlightened to discover more details about some of her long life stories. There was no keeping her down, and she loved life and the world around her. Most recently, Irish moved to Loudon, Tennessee, at 98 years old to be near her daughter, Kathleen Johnson, and son-in-law, Tom Johnson. There, she embraced life with enthusiasm \u2013 dancing on Friday Nights, attending outdoor concerts, and joining friends for game nights. She loved family time, travel, dance, and music. Thelma had three children: Wesley Sumner, who died in 2022; her two daughters, Kathleen Johnson and Christine Nolan; two stepsons, Robert Anderson Jr. and Kevin Anderson; and six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. Thelma\u2019s legacy of love, positivity, and joy will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
