\u201cThe ghost with the most\u201d is returning to San Jose.<\/p>\n
And you know that can only mean one thing, right?<\/p>\n
It\u2019s showtime!<\/p>\n
So get ready for the return of the hit musical \u201cBeetlejuice,\u201d<\/a> which Broadway San Jose<\/a> presents March 31-April 5 at San Jose\u2019s Center for the Performing Arts.<\/p>\n Most of you probably know the \u201cBeetlejuice\u201d<\/a> backstory by this point, but we\u2019ll go over it \u2014 briefly \u2014 one more time because it makes us smile.<\/p>\n The musical is based on the tremendous Tim Burton movie<\/a> of the same name from 1988, which starred Winona Ryder, Alec Baldwin, Geena Davis, Jeffrey Jones, Catherine O\u2019Hara and, of course, Michael Keaton in the title role.<\/p>\n The story centers on Lydia Deetz, a troubled teenager whose life is changed forever when she moves into a house that is also inhabited by a recently deceased couple. Then a demon by the name of Beetlejuice<\/a> shows up and things really get nutty.<\/p>\n Toss in some disturbingly memorable and delightfully over-the-top Broadway songs \u2014 including \u201cCreepy Old Guy,\u201d \u201cSay My Name,\u201d \u201cDead Mom,\u201d \u201cGirl Scout,\u201d \u201cThe Whole \u2018Being Dead\u2019 Thing\u201d and, most famously, \u201cDay-O (The Banana Boat Song)\u201d \u2014 and what you get is a really fun night of theater.<\/p>\n
