Two months after a GoFundMe<\/a> raised more than $100,000 to help the 73-year-old Oscar nominee pay back rent he owed on his Los Angeles home, a ruling has been made.<\/p>\n On Monday, a judgment filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court revealed Rourke had defaulted in the case, indicating he either didn\u2019t respond to the complaint or \u201cappear to defend himself within the required time under California law,\u201d as PEOPLE<\/a> exclusively reports.<\/p>\n As a result, the court ordered that the actor\u2019s rental agreement with landlord Eric T. Goldie be canceled and his lease forfeited, per the judgment.<\/p>\n Back in December, Rourke was served with a notice to pay $59,100 in back rent or vacate the three-bedroom home on Drexel Avenue within three days.<\/p>\n The following month, the actor\u2019s manager Kimberly Hines launched a GoFundMe with a goal of $100,000 to raise the necessary funds \u2014 which Rourke denounced as \u201chumiliating\u201d in an Instagram video<\/a>. The fundraising campaign, which surpassed its goal within 24 hours, was subsequently removed<\/a> from the platform.<\/p>\n Mickey Rourke won a Golden Globe for his performance in ‘The Wrestler’ in 2009 Hines, who has represented The Wrestler star for nearly a decade, told Entertainment Weekly<\/a> at the time she launched the GFM \u201cwith Mickey’s knowledge.\u201d She added that Rourke was “set back somewhat\u201d by the public reaction to his eviction case, but had \u201csince recognized that I did it because I care for him as I have for many years.\u201d<\/p>\n Beyond the \u201coutpouring of love and support\u201d from fans, other positive developments came from the media frenzy, Hines said.<\/p>\n \u201cMickey has received many offers in the last few days, is attached to a number of projects, and is even developing his own property in the form of a graphic novel deal with Jay Firestone and Prodigy Pictures,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n Get your daily dose of entertainment news, celebrity updates, and what to watch with our\u00a0EW Dispatch newsletter<\/a>.<\/p>\n She also said Rourke had vacated the Drexel Avenue home where he lived since March 2025 and moved into a West Hollywood hotel.
