Former Vice President Kamala Harris has canceled several book tour stops in California. On Tuesday, Ticketmaster’s website showed that dates to promote her “107 Days” book in Sacramento, Anaheim and San Diego had been canceled. (Previous coverage in the video above.)She was set to appear at Sacramento’s Golden 1 Center on April 4, San Diego’s Civic Theatre on April 6 and Anaheim’s Honda Center on April 10. Ticketmaster cited “a scheduling conflict” as a reason for why the event called “A Conversation with Kamala Harris” was canceled. Ticketholders would be refunded, according to the notice. Those stops have also been removed from Harris’ website. KCRA 3 reached out to a representative for Harris for comment on what prompted the tour dates to be canceled. Her most recent stop was on March 3 in Oakland. That night, KCRA 3 reported that California taxpayers had been paying for Harris’ security detail as she traveled out of state and, in some cases, out of the country to promote her book.Multiple sources who were unauthorized to speak publicly about security matters told KCRA 3 that dozens of California Highway Patrol officers had been traveling with her for all of the former vice president’s book tour appearances. State officials would not say exactly how many officers are assigned to her, how long the arrangement will last and how much taxpayer money is being used.Harris’ spokesperson has not responded to a request for comment or to questions about who was paying for the officers’ travel and whether Harris is reimbursing the state for any of the expenses.Harris’ memoir is about her brief campaign for president after Joe Biden dropped out of the race against Donald Trump in 2024. The book tour stops have also included London and Ontario, according to the book’s website.See more coverage of top California stories here | Download our app | Subscribe to our morning newsletter | Find us on YouTube here and subscribe to our channel
