One of the two was knocked out cold and required stitches. The other was badly cut and bruised. Both went to the hospital.<\/p>\n

MORE: 18-year-old suspect involved in fatal Valentine’s Day stabbing at San Jose’s Santana Row denied bail<\/a><\/p>\n San Jose Police say they are aware of the incident from Sunday and an investigation is active and ongoing.<\/p>\n Because antisemitic language was allegedly used, their assault unit is investigating as a possible hate crime.<\/p>\n This is not the first time we spoke with one of these men, his business was vandalized last August <\/a>with graffiti of swastikas and hateful language.<\/p>\n MORE: Hate crime investigation underway after San Jose Jewish-owned business vandalized<\/a><\/p>\n Tali Klima with the Bay Area Jewish Coalition says the widening conflict between Iran, the U.S. and Israel will only make antisemitism worse unless local leaders increase protections.<\/p>\n “Antisemitism has been on the rise in the U.S., even before October 7th and it just keeps going up and up and up,” Klima said. “And so, it’s time to take this problem seriously and actually take concrete steps to address it.”<\/p>\n MORE: San Francisco church vandalized with hate speech as suspect faces felony charges<\/a><\/p>\n For the men, they’re grateful their injuries aren’t worse.<\/p>\n But they are also calling on change to make sure this doesn’t happen to anyone else.<\/p>\n
