FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — An Amtrak bus driver is in the hospital after a shooting in Downtown Fresno.<\/p>\n
It happened at midnight at the Amtrak station on Tulare and O streets.<\/p>\n
Police received a call of four to five shots reported in the area.<\/p>\n
The bus returned to the station after dropping off several passengers and was parked in the roundabout.<\/p>\n
After the passengers left, police say an unhoused man entered the bus with a gun while the driver was in the middle of cleaning.<\/p>\n
“A homeless male fired multiple rounds at the bus, striking the bus, and one went through the window, striking the driver,” says Fresno Police Lt. Zeb Price.<\/p>\n
Police say one of the bullets grazed the driver across his cheek.<\/p>\n
He was taken to the hospital and is being treated for his injuries.<\/p>\n
The suspect is still on the loose.<\/p>\n
Police are working with Amtrak for surveillance video and any witnesses to the crime.<\/p>\n
