The bar was later renamed in his honor and relocated to its current Tudor Revival-style building off Fairfax Avenue in 1949. <\/p>\n<p>The tavern claims to have introduced <a class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/food\/story\/2023-03-16\/the-best-irish-coffee-in-the-world\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Irish coffee<\/a> to the U.S. \u2014 though some argue that <a class=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sfgate.com\/california\/article\/irish-coffee-sf-la-21311817.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">San Francisco\u2019s Buena Vista Cafe<\/a> holds that title. Either way, Tom Bergin\u2019s is one of the oldest bars in continuous operation in L.A. and boasts the second-oldest liquor license in the city.
