{"id":217056,"date":"2026-03-12T21:58:07","date_gmt":"2026-03-12T21:58:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/217056\/"},"modified":"2026-03-12T21:58:07","modified_gmt":"2026-03-12T21:58:07","slug":"students-talk-spring-break-annenberg-media","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/217056\/","title":{"rendered":"Students talk spring break \u2013 Annenberg Media"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph\">With midterms in the rearview mirror, USC students said they were looking forward to a week of rest and relaxation with friends and family over spring break.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cI feel like I\u2019ve definitely put a lot of my time and my effort into school throughout the semester,\u201d said Nyreea Ghayan, a sophomore majoring in law, history and culture. \u201cSo I\u2019m ready to take a step back and kind of spend time with my family, my friends and sleep.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">For Keira Struhl, a junior studying cognitive science, balance was the goal for the next week.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cI think a balance is good, because there\u2019s more time. I should definitely go out and try some different things, but I think it\u2019s also a good chance to relax,\u201d Struhl said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Other students were planning to do a little more activity during their break from classes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Stella McNab, a freshman studying communications, said she was a little nervous about her plans to visit Punta Mita \u2014 a city much closer to Puerto Vallarta, which has seen <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uscannenbergmedia.com\/2026\/02\/23\/mexico-faces-violence-unrest-after-killing-of-cartel-leader-with-us-assistance\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.uscannenbergmedia.com\/2026\/02\/23\/mexico-faces-violence-unrest-after-killing-of-cartel-leader-with-us-assistance\/\">recent unrest.<\/a> <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">She said she has since become more excited about her trip.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cI was kind of nervous about it at first, but my family\u2019s been there for five days now, so I\u2019m excited,\u201d McNab said. \u201cThey said it\u2019s been fine.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Yuxio Liu, a second year master student majoring in applied data science, said she planned to visit Hawaii with her friends with a stop by her favorite spot, Waikiki Beach, also known as Shark\u2019s Cove. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cIn Shark\u2019s Cove you can dive in and see a lot of small fish around the beach area,\u201d Liu said, noting that she was a bit concerned about a storm system moving into the area.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">And while a lot of students are seeking out sunny beaches, Ann Law, a student studying neuroscience, said she would be taking a 35-hour Amtrak journey from L.A.
