{"id":217537,"date":"2026-03-13T03:54:16","date_gmt":"2026-03-13T03:54:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/217537\/"},"modified":"2026-03-13T03:54:16","modified_gmt":"2026-03-13T03:54:16","slug":"49ers-bryce-huff-shockingly-announces-retirement-from-the-nfl","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/217537\/","title":{"rendered":"49ers&#8217; Bryce Huff shockingly announces retirement from the NFL"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Updated March 12, 2026, 2:27 p.m. PT<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">The <a href=\"\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" data-t-l=\":b|e|k|\u2691u\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\">San Francisco 49ers<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/ninerswire.usatoday.com\/story\/sports\/nfl\/niners\/2026\/03\/12\/nfl-free-agency-49ers-robert-beal-dolphins\/89118424007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" data-t-l=\":b|e|k|\u2691u\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\">lost defensive end Robert Beal Jr.<\/a> to the Miami Dolphins on Thursday morning, and they lost another defensive end in the afternoon, as Bryce Huff announced his retirement from the NFL on social media.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">In his video, Huff discussed his journey through football from a kid hoping to make his dreams come true to an NFL player with the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/sportsdata.usatoday.com\/football\/nfl\/teams\/san-francisco-49ers\/359\" data-autotag=\"3d4aeb7f-6493-4c2a-8803-2439e4b64ee4\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-t-l=\":b|e|k|\u2691u\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\">49ers<\/a>, New York Jets and Philadelphia Eagles.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">He also spoke about how he can do more than just football and announced that he&#8217;s starting a company to focus on the fire risk in lithium-ion batteries.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"gnt_em_ig_bl\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reel\/DVy_dWJknrg\/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" aria-label=\"view Instagram post: \"><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Huff, 27, played at Memphis from 2016-19, earning All-AAC honors twice.
