FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — Several streets have been blocked off as police search for the suspects involved in a shooting at the entrance of the VA hospital in central Fresno.<\/p>\n
Fresno Police say they received a call from the VA hospital’s police team about a victim with a gunshot wound at 9:11 p.m. on Thursday.<\/p>\n
When officers arrived, they found a man suffering a gunshot wound to his lower body.<\/p>\n
Investigators believe the victim had no business at the VA hospital. They were taken to the hospital and are expected to survive.<\/p>\n
Authorities say multiple suspects took off on foot and ran across the street but are unsure if the suspects are still in the immediate area.<\/p>\n
Officers have created a perimeter at the scene as the search for the suspects continues. A helicopter has been seen flying overhead to help aid in the search.<\/p>\n
It’s unclear what led up to the shooting. Police believe at least one of the suspects is armed and dangerous.<\/p>\n
Drivers are asked to avoid the area and to find alternate routes.<\/p>\n
