Linus Ullmark made 23 saves and the Ducks were shut out for the second time in four games in a 2-0 loss at the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa.<\/p>\n
The Ducks couldn\u2019t find the back of the net on any of their 23 shots, including on four power-play opportunities.<\/p>\n
Ville Husso stopped 27 shots for the Ducks (36-27-3), who have now lost three of their last four games and are in peril of falling out of the Pacific Division lead.<\/p>\n
For Ullmark, it was his second shutout of the season and 14th of his career. Ottawa has now won four of its last five games.<\/p>\n
The Ducks were playing the first of five games without captain Radko Gudas. The defenseman was suspended five games by the NHL<\/a> for a knee-to-knee hit on Toronto\u2019s Auston Matthews that knocked the Maple Leafs start out for the season during a 6-4 Ducks loss<\/a> Thursday.<\/p>\n Michael Amadio and Thomas Chabot scored for Ottawa (33-23-9), with Shane Pinto notching two assists.<\/p>\n Pinto fed Amadio on a 2-on-1 and the former King beat Husso short-side 3:54 into the second period.<\/p>\n Less than seven minutes later, Pinto intercepted a pass and found Chabot in the high slot for a short-handed goal. The Ducks challenged for goaltender interference but were unsuccessful, even though it appeared Tim Stutzle\u2019s skate made contact with Husso in the crease.<\/p>\n Husso made two key saves in the first period, stopping Amadio on a shorthanded 2-on-1 and denying Stutzle with a glove save on a Senators power play.<\/p>\n Stutzle almost made it 3-0 with his goal in the third period, but Ottawa was called for goaltender interference.<\/p>\n The Ducks wrap up their four-game Canadian sojourn Sunday at Montreal before coming home and taking on Philadelphia on Wednesday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"In a matinee matchup Saturday, the Ducks had no answers for the Ottawa Senators.
