WP:\u00a0Nik Miller<\/a> (2-0) FRESNO, Calif. –\u00a0Jackson Waller<\/a> highlighted a nine-run Nevada seventh with a game-tying grand slam as the Wolf Pack came back from six down to take the series at Fresno State, 15-12.<\/p>\n The series win is Nevada’s first in Fresno since 2021. The Wolf Pack and Bulldogs will close the series Sunday at 12:05 p.m.<\/p>\n Nevada (10-6, 2-0 MW) trailed 11-5 after Fresno State put up three runs in the bottom of the sixth. But the Wolf Pack jumped all over a shaky Bulldog bullpen, as the first six batters of the seventh not only reached base but scored.<\/p>\n Four-straight singles opened the frame, with the latter two driving in runs from Lee Matsuzaki<\/a> and Jacob Doyle<\/a> to make it 11-7. Jake Harvey<\/a> walked to load the bases, bringing the tying run to the plate in the form of Jackson Waller<\/a>. Waller slammed an 0-1 offering from Drew Townson deep and out to left, the grand slam tying things up at 11-11. And the Wolf Pack weren’t finished, as Rominic Quiban’s<\/a> one-out single started another rally.<\/p>\n As reliever Wyatt Thornbury came on for Townson, Quiban stole second then scored the go-ahead run on Jack Metcho’s<\/a> single through the right side. Jayce Dobie<\/a>, who opened the inning with a single, walked, then he and Metcho advanced on a wild pitch to put two in scoring position for Junhyuk Kwon<\/a>. Kwon, who went 3-for-6 on the day, lifted a single to shallow center to plate both runs and complete the nine-run outburst and give Nevada a 14-11 lead.<\/p>\n Quiban added an RBI double in the eighth to make it 15-11.<\/p>\n Nik Miller<\/a> came on with two out in the sixth, and threw 2.1 innings of shutout relief to improve to 2-0 on the season.<\/p>\n The Pack thrice went deep in the contest, with solo shots from Noah Blythe<\/a> and Sean Yamaguchi<\/a> joining Waller’s grand slam. Blythe finished the game 2-for-5 with two runs scored, while Kwon and Dobie each had three hits, Dobie scoring four runs. Jacob Doyle<\/a> reached base in five of six plate appearances, going 2-for-3\u00a0 with two RBIs and three walks.<\/p>\n
