An extreme heat watch was issued by the NWS San Diego CA on Sunday at 1:35 a.m. valid from Thursday 10 a.m. until Friday 8 p.m. The watch is for San Bernardino County Mountains, Riverside County Mountains and San Diego County Mountains.<\/p>\n

“Hot conditions with temperatures of 85 to 95 degrees possible below 5500 feet elevation,” adds the NWS. “High temperatures this week will be 20 to 30 degrees above normal for this time of year. Record breaking heat is likely.”<\/p>\n

“Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat events,” says the NWS.<\/p>\n

This watch is in effect until Friday at 8 p.m.<\/p>\n

To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air-conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. In an emergency, call 911.<\/p>\n
