FRESNO, Calif. \u2014 A once-empty space in downtown Fresno has been transformed into a vibrant destination where food, art, and community come together under one roof.<\/p>\n
The Grub Pub is not just a place to eat.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s a modern food hall designed to bring people together.<\/p>\n
FOX26 News reporter Mayra Franco spoke with co-owner James Torres, who shared his vision for the 8,000-square-foot space.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe get a lot of people coming in and saying the exact same thing. This is like downtown LA. This is like downtown SAC and that’s what we’re trying to do: bring something different,\u201d Torres said.<\/p>\n
The Grub Pub brings multiple eateries together in one vibrant hub:<\/p>\n
Beebe’s Cafe \u2013 serving fresh pastries, avocado toast, and a variety of coffee drinks.Los Barrientes \u2013 a Mexican restaurant featuring generational recipes made from scratch.Papa’s Teriyaki \u2013 half the menu is loaded potatoes in different styles, the other half teriyaki bowls.Juliet’s \u2013 offering pizza, burgers, subs, and salads.JJ\u2019s Bar \u2013 set to open in a few months, featuring beer and wine.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s something for everybody. One thing I\u2019d like to say is we\u2019re 8,000 square feet of yum,\u201d Torres said.<\/p>\n
Torres hopes The Grub Pub will also be a hub for local artists. The space will showcase artwork throughout the building, offering exposure without taking commissions.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe want to fill it with local artists. Put your contact info next to your artwe\u2019re going to have tons of traffic down here, and hopefully someone sees it, likes it, able to buy it,\u201d Torres said.<\/p>\n
Torres describes the space as a place for the community to gather, relax, and be inspired:<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s nothing like this in Fresno.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Grub Pub soft-launched last week and is now open to the public. The grand opening is scheduled for April 1st.<\/p>\n
