Officials were working to get the suspect to exit a vehicle.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Officials said the suspect is connected to a shooting that happened around 1:15 p.m. on March 12 on the 4000 block of Washington Avenue.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Police say the victim in this shooting, a man, was pronounced dead on the scene.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">After the shooting, officers received a weapons call on Jeffrey Way and found a suspect vehicle. They attempted to pull it over, but did not stop and a chase happened until reaching the 3300 block of 12th Avenue. Police said evacuations occurred in the area.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The suspect, identified as Willie King, 47, was detained peacefully, police said. He was taken to the hospital where he remained until Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Law enforcement add the Sacramento County Coroner\u2019s Office will release the identity of the man who died after next of kin have been notified.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Sacramento police detained a suspect linked to a shooting near Oak Park.
