Some of the biggest and brightest talents on the Bay Area blues\/R&B music scene<\/a> are joining together for an important cause.<\/p>\n

Dee Dee \u201cThe Queen of Bay Area R&B\u201d Simon, harmonica ace Rick Estrin of Little Charlie & The Nightcats, sensational soul singer Niecey Living Single, guitar great Alvon Johnson and the legendary Filmore Slim are among the artists set to turn out for the West Coast Blues Society: Walk of Fame Fundraiser<\/a> on April 6 at Yoshi\u2019s in Oakland.<\/p>\n

Other acts on the bill include Xymphoni, Silk-E, Eli the Chief Albert, Reggie Rolls and the West Coast Caravan of All Stars Review featuring guitarist Ronnie Stewart<\/a> (who is also the founder of the West Coast Blues Society) with Sweet Meat Horns. The emcee for the evening is Brenda Knight of Ladies in Red.<\/p>\n

The goal of the concert is to help restore \u201cThe Music They Played on 7th Street Oakland\u201d Walk of Fame in West Oakland to its former glory.<\/p>\n

Back in early 2025, thieves reportedly stole some 40 of the 80 bronze sidewalk plaques \u2014 \u2013 honoring many of the greatest blues\/R&B artists in Bay Area history \u2014 from the ground. The total coast to fix the damage and restore the Walk of Fame<\/a> was originally estimated by Stewart to be around $150,000.<\/p>\n
