Jimmy Panetta announced $2 million in federal funding has been lined up to rebuild the Yerba Buena Bridge in the Evergreen district of South San Jose.<\/p>\n<p>The pedestrian bridge connects Evergreen Valley College and Yerba Buena Road to Park Estate Way.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Yerba Buena Bridge has been, and continues to be, a crucial artery in the Evergreen Community,\u201d Panetta, D-Santa Cruz, said Friday in a press release. \u201cThis is not just about rehabilitation of a bridge, it\u2019s also about making sure that our communities are connected to opportunity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The funds will support design plan, project management, permitting, inspection services, environmental monitoring, demolition, construction, and improvements to the existing creek channel, Panetta\u2019s office said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"U.S. Rep.
