{"id":227656,"date":"2026-03-19T23:57:17","date_gmt":"2026-03-19T23:57:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/227656\/"},"modified":"2026-03-19T23:57:17","modified_gmt":"2026-03-19T23:57:17","slug":"bpd-rolls-out-comprehensive-public-safety-plan-for-bakersfield-marathon-this-sunday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/227656\/","title":{"rendered":"BPD rolls out &#8216;comprehensive public safety plan&#8217; for Bakersfield Marathon this Sunday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK\/KBFX) \u2014 The Bakersfield Police Department said it has developed a &#8220;comprehensive public safety plan&#8221; to keep the<a href=\"https:\/\/bakersfieldnow.com\/search?find=Bakersfield+Marathon\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"> Bakersfield Marathon<\/a> safe for runners, spectators, volunteers, and residents on Sunday, March 22.<\/p>\n<p>BPD personnel will be placed throughout the race route to control traffic, enforce road closures, and secure the areas.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Photo: City of Bakersfield{p}{\/p}\" class=\"ImageEmbed_image__qZBo_\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/680ac1e0-a51b-422d-a780-8c920e0bf872-FMR.jpg\"\/>Photo: City of Bakersfield<\/p>\n<p>Multiple public safety partners will also be on site, such as the tactical response teams from the BPD and the Kern County Sheriff\u2019s Office.
