Hilary Knight may be one of the most decorated players in women’s hockey but when it comes to wedding planning, the Olympic gold medalist <\/a>is taking a decidedly low\u2011pressure approach.<\/p>\n

Fresh off her engagement<\/a>, Knight says she and fianc\u00e9e Brittany Bowe are in no rush to map out the big day. In fact, she joked that the moment you get engaged, the world seems to have only one question: When\u2019s the wedding?<\/p>\n

“We just got engaged,” Knight laughed. “It’ll probably take us a while because I’m back in the pro season and still doing that. We’ll see where we end up in the next year or so.”<\/p>\n

Adding to the timing puzzle, Knight\u2019s brother is getting married this fall. That puts the couple “in the queue,” as she put it and is perfectly content to let things unfold naturally.<\/p>\n

While the date remains wide open, the vision for the wedding is already sparking some playful back\u2011and\u2011forth between the couple.<\/p>\n

“Britt wants to do some destination,” Knight said. \u201cAnd I kind of want to do, like, a Western\u2011themed thing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sun Valley, Idaho, a place Knight describes as “really special,” is high on her personal list. But she’s also open to wherever Bowe imagines hosting friends and family, ideally for what Knight hopes will be “a big rager for all.”<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tTeam USA\u2019s star forward, who set the U.S. women\u2019s hockey Olympic scoring record in the gold medal game against Canada, credits her teammates for motivating her.\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n

Knight’s relationship with the men’s hockey team<\/p>\n

When asked whether the men’s national team might make the guest list, Knight didn\u2019t hesitate.<\/p>\n

“Yeah, I mean, some of the guys that we’re close with, definitely,” she said. “Obviously, weddings are, for me, a personal thing. If someone’s in that support group, they’re definitely gonna get the invite.”<\/p>\n

Knight said the teams grew close throughout the Milan Cortina Olympics,<\/a> connecting in small but meaningful ways, including going to each other\u2019s events, grabbing meals in the dining hall or spending time together in the medical treatment room.<\/p>\n

She described “a bunch of touchpoints” with the men\u2019s team and said there was “definitely a genuine level of support there.”<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tOlympic hockey champion Hilary Knight addressed the controversial phone call between the U.S. men\u2019s hockey team and President Donald Trump, \u201cThe joke was distasteful and unfortunate. And the way women are represented, I think it\u2019s a great teaching point.\u201d\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n

She acknowledged that “at the end of the tournament, things kind of went a little crazy,” but emphasized that the bond between the programs remained strong.<\/p>\n

After the Olympics, the men’s and women’s programs were briefly pulled into some political controversy. <\/a>The situation created some unwanted noise and added a layer of tension around both teams.<\/p>\n

Looking ahead, Knight said she\u2019s focused on shifting the conversation back to what both teams accomplished.<\/p>\n
