TRACY, CA \u2013 A man lost his life following a single-vehicle crash in Tracy on Tuesday, according to the California Highway Patrol.<\/p>\n
Authorities said the 51-year-old was driving a Ford Mustang around 10:20 a.m. along westbound Highway 132, just west of the Chrisman Road overcrossing. For reasons that remain unclear, he lost control of the vehicle, veering left onto the shoulder made up of asphalt and dirt.<\/p>\n
The car then continued into the grassy center median, where it overturned several times and struck both a tree stump and a tree before coming to rest on its roof east of Interstate 580.<\/p>\n
Emergency responders from South County Fire arrived and removed the driver from the vehicle, but sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n
Investigators noted that two witnesses reported the man had not been driving recklessly prior to the crash. Officials also confirmed that he was wearing a seatbelt and showed no signs of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol.<\/p>\n
