SAN DIEGO \u2013 San Diego State men\u2019s tennis took down Air Force 4-2 in its conference opener on Sunday afternoon. The Aztecs improve to 7-9 and 1-0 in the Mountain West while the Falcons fall to 4-8 and 0-1 in the league.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was a good win today against a well-coached Air Force team,\u201d said Head Coach Gene Carswell<\/a>. \u201cI\u2019m proud of the team for rallying together to earn a hard-fought win.\u201d<\/p>\n The Aztecs took a quick lead after capturing the doubles point with wins on courts one and two. Aleksi Lofman<\/a> and William Kleege<\/a> downed Jack Brown and Tyler Leaird 6-3 on the top court before Imran Daniel Hazli<\/a> and Eugenio Gonzalez Fitzmaurice<\/a> clinched the point with a 6-4 victory over AJ Moore and Langdon Tingleaf in the second spot. Lars Johann<\/a> and Brock Anderson<\/a> led Alec Fritzinger and Matthew Staton 5-4 on court three when the point was earned.<\/p>\n In singles competition, Johann defeated Staton 6-3, 7-5 before Lofman took the top court 6-4, 6-3 over Moore.
