Chief Justice Patricia Guerrero, Governor Gavin Newsom, Senate President pro Tempore Monique Lim\u00f3n, and Speaker of the Assembly Robert Rivas issued a joint statement on Monday to mark the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.<\/p>\n

The leaders convened following Chief Justice Guerrero\u2019s fourth State of the Judiciary address to highlight the enduring importance of the nation\u2019s founding ideals and affirming their shared commitment to those principles.<\/p>\n

This year marks the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, which established our great nation with three separate and coequal branches of government. As the leaders of California\u2019s three branches of government, we affirm our continued dedication to safeguarding the rule of law, and to upholding a government that serves all Californians.\u201d<\/p>\n
