A man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly shooting at two juveniles after asking their gang affiliation, striking one of them, San Jose authorities said.<\/p>\n
Jose Ortiz-Buenrostro, a 32-year-old resident of San Jose, was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on suspicion of attempted murder.<\/p>\n
Around 3:10 p.m. on Dec. 6, officers responded to reports of a shooting on the 1100 block of South Capitol Avenue, authorities said. Ortiz-Buenrostro asked two juvenile boys for their gang affiliation, then pulled out a firearm and shot at the victims.<\/p>\n
One victim was struck by a bullet and was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The second victim was unharmed after a bullet hit his clothing, authorities said.<\/p>\n
The suspect then fled the scene, authorities added.<\/p>\n
Through the investigation, conducted by the Gang Investigations Unit, detectives found the suspect vehicle and identified the suspect, authorities said.<\/p>\n
Ortiz-Buenrostro was arrested in San Jose, authorities said. Authorities also executed a search warrant at his residence and uncovered the suspect firearm, as well as clothes worn during the alleged shooting and other gang indicia.<\/p>\n
