People are expected to take to the streets in Sacramento for the upcoming “No Kings Day” protest, a day of mass mobilization across the United States<\/a> to demonstrate their frustration with President Donald Trump<\/a>‘s administration.<\/p>\n

Organizers are expecting this wave of protest on March 28 to be one of the largest, with more than 3,000 events scheduled across the country \u2014 almost 1,000 more than the first “No Kings” national mobilization, according to a March 18 press release.<\/p>\n

\u201cAmericans may disagree on policy, but we agree on two fundamental values: that we should be governed by ourselves, not kings, and that there is a basic goodness at our core,” said Randi Weingarten, president of the American Federation of Teachers, in a press release. “That\u2019s why I\u2019m not surprised that millions of Americans refuse to be cowed by the federal government\u2019s abuses of power and are saying \u2018count me in\u2019 for No Kings.”<\/p>\n

During the last “No Kings” held in October 2025, about 7,000 people gathered at California’s Capitol to express their displeasure with the Trump administration,\u00a0according to the Sacramento Bee.<\/a><\/p>\n

What is ‘No Kings Day’?<\/p>\n

The\u00a0“No Kings Day” protests are organized<\/a>\u00a0by a broad coalition of progressive organizations, labor unions and activist groups, including Indivisible, the 50501 Movement and the American Civil Liberties Union.<\/p>\n

The events, organizers say, are in response to Trump and his attempt to \u201ccontrol\u201d the populace.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith every ICE raid, every escalation abroad, and every abuse of power at home, Americans are rising up in opposition to Trump\u2019s attempt to rule through fear and force,\u201d Ezra Levin, co-executive director of Indivisible, said. “Each day Trump crosses a new red line, and more people are deciding\u00a0they\u2019ve\u00a0had enough. That is why people across the country are organizing, showing up for their neighbors, and making one thing unmistakably clear: we are done with\u00a0the corruption,\u00a0the cruelty, and\u00a0the authoritarianism.\u201d<\/p>\n

In June, more than 5 million people\u00a0participated\u00a0in the first round of protests across 2,100 events, while the October rendition saw 7 million people across 2,700 events, according to organizers.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe March 28 mobilization is the next step in this growing movement, with organizers anticipating it will be one of the largest single-day nonviolent nationwide protests in U.S. history,\u201d organizers said.<\/p>\n

In the Sacramento area, organizers have over a dozen protests planned, according to\u00a0an online map of\u00a0“No Kings Day” protests<\/a>.<\/p>\n

West Sacramento: 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at River Walk Park<\/p>\n

Arden-Arcade: 10 a.m. to noon at Watt Avenue and El Camino Avenue<\/p>\n

Auburn: noon to 2 p.m. at Target at 2700 Bell Road<\/p>\n

Chico: noon to 4 p.m. at 411 Main Street<\/p>\n

Davis: 1-3 p.m. at Central Park<\/p>\n

Elk Grove: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Designer Shoe Warehouse at Bruceville Road and Laguna Boulevard<\/p>\n

Folsom: 9 a.m. to noon at Folsom-Auburn Road Bridge<\/p>\n

Galt: 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Galt City Hall<\/p>\n

Gold River: 10 a.m. to noon at Gold Country Boulevard & Sunrise Boulevard<\/p>\n

Lincoln: 12:30-2 p.m. at Groveland Lane & Ferrari Ranch Road<\/p>\n

Manteca: 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at East Yosemite Avenue and Spreckels Avenue<\/p>\n
