BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — Ridgecrest police arrested a 32-year-old man for stealing two Monster Energy drink cases from a grocery store on Tuesday, officials said.

On March 24, 2026, at around 1:50 p.m., officers responded to Stater Brothers on North China Lake for a report of shoplifting. Officers were told a suspect with a “manbun” and neck tattoos entered the store and allegedly tried to steal six cases.

He was able to steal two 24-packs of Monster Energy, but later, officers recognized the suspect through surveillance footage. They identified him as Ridgecrest resident Trey Troxell, a man already convicted of several theft-related crimes. He was arrested shortly afterward.

In their investigation, officers learned that Troxell was allegedly selling the stolen merchandise to another business in Ridgecrest, so they could resell it. Detectives went to that store and seized the alleged stolen merchandise.
