(KBAK\/KBFX) \u2014 The Kern County Coroner\u2019s Office has identified a <a href=\"https:\/\/bakersfieldnow.com\/news\/local\/pedestrian-killed-in-southeast-bakersfield-crash-on-pacheco-road-late-saturday-night-according-to-the-bakersfield-police-department\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">man who died after being struck by a vehicle on Pacheco Road <\/a>as 18-year-old Nathaniel Antwan Jerome Carter.<\/p>\n<p>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/bakersfieldnow.com\/news\/local\/pedestrian-killed-in-southeast-bakersfield-crash-on-pacheco-road-late-saturday-night-according-to-the-bakersfield-police-department\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Pedestrian killed in southeast Bakersfield crash on Pacheco Road late Saturday night<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Bakersfield Police Department said on March 21, 2026, officers went to the 1100 block of Pacheco Road, at around 9:31 p.m., for a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.<\/p>\n<p>When they arrived, they found a man lying in the roadway. He was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>The pedestrian was identified as Carter.<\/p>\n<p>The driver of the involved car remained at the scene and cooperated with officers. Police said speed nor impairment appear to be factors in the crash.<\/p>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gofundme.com\/f\/in-loving-memory-of-nathaniel-carter\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">GoFundMe was created for Carter<\/a>.
