\n SAN MARCOS, Calif. \u2013 A dozen members of the Carleton College women’s track & field team took part in two separate Southern California meets as the Knights continued their Spring Break training trip.
\n\u00a0
\nThree Knights raced the 100-meter dash at the Cal State San Marcos Mangrum Invitational. Terri Mensah<\/a> took 16th in a collegiate-best time of 13.16, Bianca Lott<\/a> placed 19th at 13.31, and Alice Islam<\/a> finished 21st at 13.76.
\n\u00a0
\nPamina Nemet<\/a> finished seventh of 39 finishers across five heats of the 800-meter run. She clocked a time of 2:17.84, while Charlotte Kusch<\/a> placed 11th overall at with a PR of 2:20.01.
\n\u00a0
\nIslam returned to the track and posted a time of 29.03 in the 200-meter dash.
\n\u00a0
\nLauren Tittel<\/a> and Amelia Campbell<\/a> placed fifth and sixth out of 49 racers in the 1500-meter run as they both set collegiate bests. Tittel crossed the line at 4:40.57, only 0.03 ahead of Campbell.
\n\u00a0
\nNemet, Kusch, Lott, and Campbell combined on a time of 4:17.73 in the 4×400-meter relay.
\n\u00a0
\nSierra Cherniavsky<\/a> competed in the 5,000-meter run, crossing the line at a collegiate-best 19:35.50 to place 25th out of 42 finishers.
\n\u00a0
\nHannah Preisser<\/a> was the runner-up in the 10,000-meter run, covering the distance in 35:45.54. Aliya Larsen<\/a> took sixth place with a time of 38:29.48.

\nMensah was the lone Knight to compete in a field event at this meet and measured 4.76 meters in the long jump.

\nFurther up the Pacific Coast, Sophie Syverson<\/a> and Jillian Muglia<\/a> competed in the heptathlon at the Klein\/Nwaba Combined Events hosted by Westmont College.
\n\u00a0
\nSyverson competed in her first heptathlon and finished in fifth place after totaling 3,090 points while going 7-for-7 in setting personal bests. She started the two-day competition with a time of 17.76 in the 100-meter hurdles, then cleared 1.31 meters in the high jump, and measured 6.91 meters in the shot put before finishing the day with at time of 28.82 in the 200-meter dash. Friday saw her leap 4.30 meters in the long jump and measure 11.79 meters in the javelin before wrapping things up with a time of 2:39.42 in the 800-meter run.

\nMuglia totaled 1,860 points on Day 1 before dropping out of the competition. She had a time of 19.10 (PR) in the 100-meter hurdles, cleared 1.37 meters in the high jump, measured 7.90 meters (PR) in the shot put, and finished the 200-meter dash with a time of 28.33 for her third collegiate best of the day.

\nCarleton is slated to compete at the Gene Glader Classic hosted by Bethel University on Saturday, April 11.
