(WVIR) &#8211; The Stonewall Jackson statue, once a prominent fixture in Charlottesville\u2019s Court Square, has resurfaced dramatically transformed and almost unrecognizable. The Confederate monument is now the centerpiece of a new art exhibit open in Los Angeles focused on white supremacist monuments.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"The Stonewall Jackson statue in Charlottesville's Court Square Park.\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/5NIXXP4CW5D6NL2MUVV75WDYQ4.bmp\" width=\"980\" height=\"735\" \/>The Stonewall Jackson statue in Charlottesville&#8217;s Court Square Park.(WVIR)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">American artist Kara Walker has taken what once stood in Downtown Charlottesville and repurposed it into a powerful statement. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The curator of the exhibit describes the remade statue, titled \u201cUnmanned Drone,\u201d as a \u201cmonument to the horror of American white supremacy.\u201d This theme arguably gained renewed national attention following the events that unfolded in Downtown Charlottesville in August 2017.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"Unmanned Drone, Kara Walker\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/W7PU3PVDCJEJVPTVBY7SIEZLFQ.jpg\" width=\"980\" height=\"730\" \/>Unmanned Drone, Kara Walker(\u00a9Ruben Diaz 2025 | Ruben Diaz)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">After a series of legal battles, both the Jackson and Robert E. Lee statues were removed four years later. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">While the Lee statue was melted down, the Jackson statue underwent a drastic change.
