SAN DIEGO, Calif. (FOX 5\/KUSI) \u2014 Several events in support of the \u201cNo Kings\u201d movement are anticipated to take place in many parts of San Diego County on Saturday, which are set to include marches, rallies and interactive activities.<\/p>\n
A main rally is scheduled for 10 a.m. to noon at Waterfront Park at 1600 Pacific Hwy. in San Diego. Similar marches were held in June<\/a> and October<\/a> of last year.<\/p>\n The \u201cNo Kings\u201d protests are part of a nationwide movement<\/a> against arrests by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers under the Trump administration, as well as other concerns, including the war with Iran, rising costs of living in the U.S. and others.<\/p>\n San Diego Unified moves to rename Cesar Chavez Elementary amid abuse allegations <\/a><\/p>\n \u201cWe expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events,\u201d the event page<\/a> on the Mobilize online platform reads.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, the San Diego County Sheriff\u2019s Office (SDSO) sent out a news release on Wednesday, saying it is aware of the planned protests this weekend and encourages the \u201cpeaceful gathering of people.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cOn behalf of Sheriff Kelly Martinez and the Sheriff\u2019s Office, we thank everyone who plans to participate to peacefully express their First Amendment rights,\u201d the sheriff\u2019s office said in its statement.<\/p>\n It added, \u201cA reminder: the Sheriff\u2019s Office does not condone any acts of violence or intolerance in our communities.\u00a0Our job is to enforce the law.\u00a0As long as\u00a0people express themselves in a peaceful and lawful manner, we do not have any lawful authority to intervene.\u201d<\/p>\n Other \u201cNo Kings\u201d protests are also expected to take place in the San Diego communities of La Jolla, Carmel Valley, Ocean Beach and Mira Mesa as well as various cities in the north, south and eastern parts of the county.<\/p>\n Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc.
