Among the planned attendees are several politicians and musicians, including Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan, U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders and Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) as well as Maggie Rogers, Bruce Springsteen and Joan Baez.<\/p>\n California Sen. Adam Schiff released a video message early Saturday morning wishing Americans a \u201cHappy \u2018No Kings\u2019 Day\u201d and bashing President Donald Trump, referring to him as \u201ca wannabe dictator behaving like the very king that was rejected in the Declaration of Independence.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cToday is our day to reaffirm the spirit of our founders, and the American Revolution itself, that we are a republic, that we are a democracy, and that we are not, nor will we ever be governed by a king,\u201d Sen. (AP Photo\/Allison Robbert)<\/p>\n In\u00a0downtown\u00a0Los Angeles, authorities have already prepared by installing gates along the 101 Freeway\u2019s Los Angeles Street exit<\/a>,\u00a0which has been a site of protesters entering the freeway in the past.\u00a0The Los Angeles Police Department\u00a0stated\u00a0Friday<\/a> that they \u201cfully support the right of individuals to peacefully assemble and exercise their First Amendment rights\u201d but asked those that choose to assemble \u201cin a manner that is lawful, safe and responsible.\u201d<\/p>\n The \u201cNo Kings\u201d movement arose\u00a0in 2025 in opposition to the Trump administration, with the first mass nationwide protests<\/a> taking place in June.
