CORVALLIS, Ore. \u2014 The San Diego Toreros (13-18, 0-2 WCC) fought back from a three-run deficit to take the lead in the fifth before Oregon State (14-22, 2-0 WCC) answered with a five-run walk-off seventh inning to claim an 8-6 victory on Saturday afternoon at Kelly Field.<\/p>\n

Kaitlyn Bartlow<\/a> was sharp through six innings, stranding multiple baserunners and retiring the Beavers in order in the fourth and sixth frames. The Toreros staked her to a lead heading into the seventh, but Oregon State loaded the bases with none out, and a walk-off grand slam ended the game.<\/p>\n

San Diego scratched together two runs in the second on a pair of singles from Hailey Mulligan<\/a> and Carly Ruiz<\/a> to pull within one at 3-2, and Shawnese Hogue-Lacy<\/a> knotted it with a solo home run to deep left field to open the fourth inning. The Toreros then broke through in a five-run fifth, loading the bases on back-to-back bunt singles from Mallory Axline<\/a> and Michelle Delgado<\/a> to set the stage. Hogue-Lacy delivered a sacrifice fly to take the lead at 4-3, and Kaylee Oh<\/a> followed with a two-run single to shallow left to push it to 6-3.<\/p>\n

Hogue-Lacy finished 1-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored on the day, while Oh went 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Mulligan added two hits and an RBI, and Ruiz drove in a run from the nine-hole. Bartlow kept the Toreros in position to win through six innings, holding Oregon State to just three hits through six total frames.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Toreros will be back in action tomorrow to close out the series with the Beavers. First pitch in the finale at Kelly Field is set for 12:00 PM.
