\t\t\tOBITUARY\t\t<\/p>\n
Daniel B. Prager, 93, of San Diego, California, passed away peacefully at home on March 17, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was born to Daniel H. and Julia E. S. Prager on August 8, 1932. Dan graduated from Herbert Hoover High School in 1950 and lettered in Track and Field and Basketball. He joined the United States Army in 1951 serving as a Physical Trainer then a Military Policeman in Japan and Korea until 1954. He attended San Diego Jr. College and Cal Western University. He started his career at San Diego Gas & Electric in 1956. He worked as a lineman for almost 40 years, retiring in 1994.<\/p>\n
He married Muriel K. E. of Maui, Hawaii in Nov. 1958. They have 4 children, Dalani T. (Ahmed), Daniel (Amy), Sheri S. (Darren), and Joanna P. (Paul). His posterity includes 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in the Boy Scouts program and on the Bishopric.<\/p>\n
He is survived by his brother, Wm Douglas Prager (Maria) and sister Gloria Joann. In his later years he could be found sitting on the front porch every morning, handing out dog treats to his canine fans and sharing stories with whoever was holding the leash. Dan will be greatly missed and fondly remembered for his off-beat humor and prolific storytelling, his encyclopedic mind, his iron-clad memory and lush mane of hair, and especially for his smile, generosity and kindness, which he shared with everyone.
