FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) \u2014 With warmer weather settling in and rain on the way, Sunshine’s Farm in Fresno is urging the community to come out and pick strawberries before any damages come to the crop.<\/p>\n

Customers said the farm\u2019s berries stand out compared to what is available in stores.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is the best place to buy strawberries in the area,\u201d Carol Davis, a customer, said. “They’re perfect and they’re delicious.\u201d<\/p>\n

Shannon Badella, another customer, said her and her daughter wanted to support a local business. <\/p>\n

The push to pick quickly is tied to a forecast of potential rain in Fresno. <\/p>\n

Sunshine’s Farm owner Kevin Yang said the farm has been operating for 30 years and that the business can be unpredictable year to year. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe keep doing it and keep doing it up but sometimes, some year we make money, some year we don’t make money, but that’s okay,\u201d Yang said. <\/p>\n

With rain expected to arrive Wednesday, he is encouraging people to pick between now and Tuesday, March 31<\/a>, to help prevent losses.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe kid they love it, they come in here, they pick the one they want it,” Yang said. \u201cThe flavor is gonna be different, got it more sweeter and they got much longer.\u201d<\/p>\n

The farm is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and provides buckets, baskets and scissors for picking. <\/p>\n

Pricing includes $5 per pound for strawberries customers pick themselves.
